The Lawyers Association of Kansas City (LAKC) will hold its 10th Annual LAKC Run for Justice 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, May 4, 2014 along Brush Creek, beginning at Theis Park. Proceeds from the Run/Walk benefit Legal Aid of Western Missouri. Chief Judge Greg Kays, U.S. District Court, Western District of Missouri, will serve as this year’s Grand Marshal.
The run will begin at 8:00am on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Theis Park, 533 Emmanuel Cleaver II Blvd. The 5K route will wind along Brush Creek toward the Plaza, and return to Theis Park. Children are welcome to take part in this event. A free Kids Run will be held immediately following the 5K Run/Walk. Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers, as well as top male and female finishers in each age category. In addition, a commemorative trophy and pizza party will be awarded to the Largest Team (# of participants, including volunteers) and Spirit Award for best team costumes. Runners registered by April 12th will receive race tech shirts.
